How to Hockey

I have been reading a blog called How To Hockey and I can tell you this is one great blog. It offers free[now we all like that word] hockey training posts and videos. It covers everything from dekeing to shooting. It is a great blog for beginners or diehard fans looking to improve their game. Below is the link. I loved it and I hope you do too!

My Thoughts on Concussions - Part 1

No one can escape hockey's worst injury: the CONCUSSION. The NHL [Ugh...Gerry Bettman] is trying to crackdown on concussions. We all know Sidney Crosby and Marc Savard (to name a few) have been hit by one. But now almost  every other day a player gets hit by one. 

The Chara/Pacioretty hit was..... don't get me started on Big Z! The biggest goof in the NHL is now the roughest.  This article is not about Zdeno, but I'm sorry when I think of his name it makes me want to lose my mind. 

One of the dirtiest plays in hockey so far this year was the Stefan/Green hit. It ended with a concussion for Green.  Come on!! In the GTHL you would get suspended for retaliation . You can see it here:

I have a friend named Eddie who has had 2 concussions in 4 days and I am going to interview him for next week. Stay tuned...

The Curve

I really like hockey stick curves. It's cool to look at the good ones and bad ones.

My favourite is the Crazy Ovi. The mid curve and open face rocks. Heaven!!!!!

Some of you might be thinking What the heck is a hockey stick curve?? I will tell you. 


Every curve is good for something -  deflections for the Seguin curve, stick-handling for the Kessel curve. Lots of different goodies. I have the sick Kovalchuck curve. Here are the top 10 best and worst curves [in my opinion].

Baseball Surgery

On Wednesday I was reading a book called The Baseball by Zack Hample, and

there was a section on the inside of a baseball and what it looks like.

I decided to try it out!

Weird Dream

Last night I had a weird dream: The Toronto Maple Leafs magically made the playoffs and made it to the conference finals. They were facing the Vancouver Canucks [they're not even in the same conference???????] the Leafs lost 3-1.Some unknown German player named Aldof Hinkley who scored 2 goals for the Canucks. Kessel scored on a breakaway. I have lots of weird sports dreams. Phil Kessel then got arrested by Toronto police for not scoring more goals.
