NHL Stanley Cup Final Playoff Predictions

In the 3rd round I was a good 2 for 2 on my predictions so you should still listen to me after my horrible 2nd round where I was 0 for 4. Here goes.



[Western Conference 1] Vancouver Canucks vs. Boston Bruins[ Eastern Conference 3]

The Outcome: I pick Vancouver in 6 games. I think The Sedins are getting really hot and will tear up the game but I think that Boston will play well if they don't give up lots on penalties. I think Nathan Horton his starting to play very good. It will be a tough few games but think the Canucks will pull of the victory.

Friday, May 27 @ Rogers Center

Yesterday I went to my first ballgame where I was trying to ballhawk. I will retell the whole ballhawking day and the game.


The day began with us picking up our tickets at a will call window which did not take that long.

When we walked inside we found out we just missed the Blue Jays half of BP (batting practice). The White Sox were hitting some longballs deep but went to the left field foul line. I think Alex Rios hit a squibber down the foul line and my brother Jack reached down and gloved it. 1 game, 1 ball. Perfect.

I then got a ball from a player who caught a fly ball and hurled it to me.

MY FIRST BALL= AWESOME. I then spotted Alexei Ramirez came to talk to the fans and I asked him to sign my ball and...... he said yes.

The day just got better. We then moved to the outfield where we met the best ballhawk ever Zack Hample! We shared some greetings and then took a photo.

He was very nice. He signed my brother's ball and then my book. My book was his new one "The Baseball." I did a review way back in April so look there. Then I saw a group of players huddling together and ran there hoping they would throw the ball to me and BINGO.






The ball had a great grass stain on its seams. Then I think Chris Sale threw me another line drive and there was a orange stain on it from the warning track.






Then a player I did not recognize threw me a ball which I gave to my brother who thinks he snagged it.[Crazy]. The game finally started and check out our seats.

This was 3rd out heaven. As the game started I did'nt care who won I wanted a 3rd out ball, but I kept on trying.  Mr. Juan Rivera had the ball on 2 occasions and did not even throw it my way. Then he had it again jogging towards me, I put my glove up hoping to here the nice smack of the ball meeting my glove but he threw it my way and.......... directed it to a toddler. Thanks Mr. Rivera you ruined my day.



The game ended with the Blue Jays winning 4-2. The game was very good but Kyle Drabek walked lots of batters. It was crazy.


The day ended with 5 balls in 1 half of BP. I am coming 3 hours early next time. It was so fun.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow I head off to Rogers Center to hopefully catch a ball or 2 and meet one of my idols Zack Hample. I will keep you up to date tomorrow.

Lionel Messi vs. Wayne Rooney

Lionel Messi vs. Wayne Rooney


For: Best offensive soccer player.


Lionel Messi: He is just a pure offensive player. His stats show it playing for both Barcelona FC and Argentina. He can shoot and deke and is the closest thing to the soccer legend Maradona. He blends skill with smarts.

Wayne Rooney: He can really be a magician at times proving that with an awesome flip goal this year. He is in his prime and is very dangerous with any team. I thought whoever has him will be a great team.


The Winner is: Lionel Messi. He is the best player on the planet. He will be the best player ever to play with both the teams he plays for.

This is my Favourite Photo of the Week.

The Photo: The baseballs are so cool having numbers on them. I think you need some very special lighting. The way the numbers are on the balls are very cool and they do that at the Rawlings Factory where they make the balls. I love how some of the balls the numbers are very bright but on others you can just see them.

NHL 3rd Round Playoff Predictions

I sucked with my predictions in the 2nd round. I was 0-4 making me 6-5 in the entire playoffs so this time I will try to make better picks.



[1] Vancouver Canucks vs. San Jose Sharks[2]

The Outcome: I think the Canucks will win in 7 games. I t will be very tough but I think they have a good chance with Ryan Kesler heating up. Antti Niemi will play enough to give the Sharks a shot.


[3] Boston Bruins vs. Tampa Bay Lightning[5]

The Outcome: I pick the Bears in 6 games. Tampa's top line will try hard but Boston's defence will stone all forward lines. Stamkos is going to play well but Tim Thomas will play better.


Those are my prediction and if you ask why I don't blog about basketball it's because I don't really like it.

Shea Weber vs. Zdeno Chara

I was thinking of doing a best of category. I pick a category and name 2 people and then declare the winner. Say if you like it in the comments. Okay, here we go.


Shea Weber vs. Zdeno Chara 


For: Best hockey defender.


Shea Weber: He is very good in the attacking zone with is hard slapshot. His defensive zone is okay and he is a very good team leader. He can also you his body a lot for crunching checks.


Zdeno Chara: Is a very good shooting defenceman. His big body helps keep the other team off the puck and is very good at defensive zone with poke checks and hits.



The Winner is: Big Z. He is hockeys best d-man and is good in both zones in the hockey arena. Shea is my favourite player with PK Subban. Z is a very good player even if I don't like him have to admit it.

Some of you know that I love the Washington Capitals so hating Crosby is like milk in cereal. I think he is a cry baby. I know its mean but its true. Everyone knows it. He crys to refs and to coaches. I know I am not patriotic because I am Canadian but I just don't like him.

I wanted to do a blogpost today and wondered if maybe since I love looking at photos I could start a new thing called "Favourite Photo of the Week." Give me some feedback if you want to see more.

Why I chose it: Look at the ticket prices. They are so cheap. I could of bought lots of tickets. You could be [almost] hit by foul tips for $15. The stadium's layout is really sick. I think it is better then Rogers Center. You could catch so many foul balls. Overall I thought it was a really cool layout compared to other MLB stadiums.
